Plastic injection moulding process is preferred to manufacture plastic parts like bottle caps, electronic housings, pocket combs, automotive interiors, and numerous plastic products. Plastic injection mould is ideal to produce multiple parts in one cycle.

Injection moulding process

Thermosetting plastic and thermoplastic materials are used in the injection moulding manufacturing process. Material is fed in a heated barrel, combined and forced in a mould cavity, which is controlled by reciprocating screw. When the moulded plastic part cools and hardens, it will be set in accordance to the configuration of the mould cavity. 

Selection of mould materials

Complex parts are created using multifaceted injection moulds. Some injection moulds facilitate to re-insert previously created injection moulded parts to form a new plastic layer over the first. It is called overmoulding.
